Photo Contest

It saddens us to say that this will be the end of the photo contests on Apogee Photo Magazine for some time to come and we hope to bring them back at some point in the future.

We thank all of you who have participated over the past 12 years.  Your wonderful gift for photography has been an inspiration to many.

"Travel By Land or By Sea"

We did not want to let these participants go unnoticed.  Since each will receive the Power Retouche Photoshop plug-ins for high quality photo editing, retouching and image editing, we did not place them in any particular order for Grand Prize, 1st Runner-up or 2nd Runner-up.

We loved the photographer's sense of humor on this one--won't be traveling far now!  It is left to the viewer's imagination to wonder what journeys and what distant shores this boat has seen before landing up here in this sad condition.  Even the ducks look like they are wondering what happened.

We are thrust back in early U.S. history to a time when the railroad and the classic engines were beginning to open up the West.  Although these are found in railroad museums now, the feelings evoked still stir the imagination.  The photographer did a fine job of capturing the sensation of being ready to go.

There is nothing more magnificent than the rock formations in the Western United States.  The scope is overwhelming.  To give the size relationship and evoke the feeling of the wilderness, the cowboy on his horse certainly do the job.  Even the photographers choice of sepia tones adds to the "old world" classical feeling and can transport us back in time.
